Once warmer weather arrives, videos of the EZ Cleanout will be posted to give all of you a better idea of how it works.

Yes, there are others on the market and, you may have used them but, there not clear! And, you have to lift the whole thing out of the water to do a clean out. NO MORE!!

This design has a removable trap with a locking pin. I can do a clean out in under 10 seconds time and be up and running again.

In the development & testing process, I made a discovery due to the trap being clear.

Generally with a 3' trap or sluice, you would automatically set it up with a 3" drop at the end. This is not the case at all! You see, with these traps, it's not about length at all, it's all about water velocity.

When it is set up at too steep of an angle, it will let you know right off the bat. You will discover that the materiel within the trap is blowing out in the center, side to side in a U shaped pattern.

When you see this taking place, just make a little adjustment by raising the front end a bit. Once it's set up properly, the materiel in the trap will level out.

This can not be done too easily with models made of black abs plastic. And trying to look inside of a black trap compartment that has black sand "aka, magnetite" doesn't work so well.

This trap tells you when it's all set to go!!

In the two years of testing and development, I would always set a Garrett Super Sluice pan in front of the trap to check for loss of gold. Mind you, when I run this trap, I'm in it for the long haul.

When I go to the river and set up, I'm there running for 7 to 8 hours straight!! No joke. My friend in Scotland "Pirate Dredger on YouTube" calls me the human backhoe! PERFECT!!

At the end of the day, the very first thing I would do is classify the materiel in the Garrett Super Sluice pan, then pan it back. Most of the time there would be nothing at all in the pan. However, I have found up to 7 little pieces of gold in the pan at the end of a long day.

Then it's time to pull the pin, slide out the trap and see what's there. Oh boy!! Where I work, it's mostly small stuff in the size range of -200 mesh, -100, -50, -30, -20, +20 and if your having a real good day and in a good spot, up to 8 mesh.

At first, I had no intention of getting a patent on this device but, then came Jerry! He wanted one and, I knew I had to lighten it up for him.

At first, the skid plate, scoop plate, exit plate and trap were clear but, the sides were made of white pvc plastic board. This added quite a bit of weight.

So when Jerry who's in his 70's requested I make him one, that's when the clear sides came into play.

This is where it all began folks. Now I'm here to share it with all of you.

I will post the video "Do You Know What's Under Your Feet" with Jerry in it on the new YouTube page. In it, he clearly states he's seen what kind of clean outs I get at the end of the day. This was the whole reason why he had to have one of his own!! He told me I find more gold in a day than he finds in a week!!

Well, I hope you give it a try. I Know You Will Like It!!
